THE PROJECT
The health of the population depends heavily on a health workforce with sufficient capacity and skills. Due to an increase in people with chronic diseases and demographic change, the need for care will increase sharply in the future. At the same time, diversity in care will play an increasingly important role. It is now important to show migrants living in Austria the advantages of the nursing profession and to make it easier for them to enter this professional field. The aim of this project is to enable intervening projects based on the results, which then increase the diversity of the nursing profession and counteract the lack of staff in the nursing sector. We want to achieve this through research and surveys. A sign of intercultural cooperation, equality and cohesion should be set and at the same time the solution of a fundamental problem of the future should be tackled.

Practice-oriented learning is very important to us. As part of our bachelor's degree in "Nonprofit, Social and Health Management" we now have the opportunity in the fourth semester to work on a project together with Compass Ltd., which is a great enrichment for us. COMPASS LTD.
Compass Ltd. is a non-profit company that integrates disadvantaged groups of people into society through new, innovative and intercultural approaches. The vision is to promote social inclusion. In the course of this, international projects are also carried out.
As part of the latest project "Migration and Nursing", the aim is to find out in partner work with students from the Management Center Innsbruck which steps need to be taken to enable people with a migration background to find their way into the nursing profession.
PROJECT TEAM
We are five highly motivated and disciplined students who take great pleasure in learning new things for us personally and at the same time for our future professional life. Tolerance, openness and respect in dealing with one another are particularly important to us. This is mainly because different interest groups with different goals are involved in our project. Any constructive and respectful discussion is welcome in order to avoid conflicts and find a common solution.
